Carry a sword for the roots, a bow for the wings, and an axe for the crown.

You are Cael, a lone warrior setting out from Hearthwick toward the Hollow Crown. The road will give you better steel—but knowing when to change weapons matters just as much.

IRONWOOD — Oath of the Three Roads is a complete single-player RPG with exploration, turn-based battles, persistent equipment, and a final three-phase dragon encounter. Play locally on Windows or macOS.

Six roads beyond the village

Explore the Amber Highlands, one of six connected wilderness roads

Travel through forest paths, mountain ruins, and snowbound passes. Each road has four roaming groups, a guardian, side caches, and a minimap. Clear the roaming threats to break the guardian's shield, then defeat it to unlock the next road and new merchant stock.

Explore freely with WASD, arrows, or click-to-walk. Find supplies off the main route, rest at springs, and wake return portals as you clear the roads.

Read the enemy. Choose your steel.

Cael strikes a forest creature with an enchanted sword

Real game capture from an isolated, staged encounter. All progression and equipment in these captures were earned through the game's rules.

Swords excel against roots and spirits. Axes cut through armor. Bows reach flying enemies. Strength raises damage, agility brings your next turn sooner, and armor helps you survive the reply. Watch a guardian charge, brace before the blow, and save a potion for the right moment.

Ranger Bow releases a Storm arrow at a Cliff Harpy

Actual bow-release animation in an earned Highlands encounter, staged for capture.

Your inventory remains available in battle. Changing weapons costs time, so prepare your loadout before the encounter—or accept the delay to find a better matchup.

An armory worth carrying

The armory shows Cael, equipment slots, item icons and enchanted weapons

Discover seven weapons, five armor pieces, three accessories, and two potion types. Equip from the icon grid, compare stats, and keep several weapons ready for different enemies. Equipment and cleared encounters stay with you after defeat.

Iona's forge applies persistent elemental enchantments to individual weapons

At Iona's forge, give a weapon an Ember, Storm, Frost, or Dawn edge. Each weapon keeps its own enchantment when stowed. These elemental attacks cost no mana; a matching weakness adds damage. Later roads unlock more choices at the forge.

Three runes. A little mana. A big decision.

Lyra's rune shop offers Fireball, Frost Touch and Chain Zap

Buy and equip one spell rune before battle. Fireball hits a single enemy, Frost Touch delays its next action, and Chain Zap strikes every living foe. Mana refills each encounter and grows with your level, but early on you only have enough for one or two casts. Health potions restore no mana.

Discover what waits ahead

Cael and all thirteen creature types, shown as enlarged runtime sprite references

Enlarged reference plate made from actual game sprites.

Meet a creature in battle to unlock its journal page. Scouting shows its stats, elemental weakness, guardian advice, and your strongest owned weapon matchups. Unseen creatures keep their secrets until you encounter them.

The Crowned Wyrm changes the fight

The Crowned Wyrm begins its Stone Crown phase in the Hollow Crown

Actual final-boss encounter loaded from an earned checkpoint; staged capture.

The final guardian shifts through Stone Crown, Blazing Wings, and Hollow Heart. Its changing form rewards a prepared axe, bow, and sword with the right elemental edges. Read the next turn, respect its charged strike, and keep your oath to the end.

Rest, prepare, and return

Hearthwick village, home to the inn, merchants and forge

Hearthwick has a free inn, equipment merchant, rune merchant, forge, and unlocked road selection. Progress autosaves at safe checkpoints, with a backup. Quitting during battle returns to the preceding checkpoint; defeat sends you home with equipment and cleared encounters retained, costing up to 20 gold.
