Arena 1v1: teal and rose rivals clash across stone cover, ice and glowing industrial vents

One rival. Five kills. Make the next shot count.

Arena 1v1 is a fast top-down deathmatch built around movement, aim and a battlefield that refuses to sit still. Push cover into place, slip through a portal, chase a timed weapon pickup and turn a losing exchange around.

Play an offline duel against an AI rival, take on a best-of-three solo series, or challenge a friend over a direct network connection. Every round is a race to five kills.

The arena is part of your arsenal.

Each seed builds a connected arena with walls, pushable crates, sliding cover, one-way portals and eight timed pickup spots. The minimap reveals both fighters to both sides. Read the route, use the cover and plan your exit before you fire.

  • Classic Arena: stone corridors, moving walls and a broad selection of weapons.
  • Snowfield: snow slows movement, ice carries momentum and Frost Spray chills your opponent.
  • Ironworks: larger pushable crates, opposing conveyors and broad side doors that wrap across the map.
  • Overgrown Conservatory: living plant beds grow into cover and change the paths through the fight.
  • Cinder Foundry: amber vents warn before igniting; stay alert while closing in with the Flamethrower.

Eight weapons. Different answers.

You begin with an unlimited-ammo Pistol. Timed pickups introduce stronger weapons and medkits as the round develops. Each arena has its own weapon pool; the full arsenal spans all five worlds.

Use the Shotgun's spread up close, control a lane with a Laser Gun, or threaten cover with explosive splash. Frost Spray slows a rival; the Flamethrower burns at short range. Limited ammunition keeps you moving toward the next pickup.

Pick your rival. Keep the rivalry going.

Rookie, Regular and Veteran rivals use the same health, movement, ammunition, pickups and weapon damage as you. Difficulty changes their reactions, aim, firing bursts and prediction. They navigate around cover, seek healing and weapons, avoid warned vents and look for a clear shot.

Arena's menu offers solo duel, empty practice, host and join, with rival and format choices

Choose a single solo duel or best of three. In a series, each round is first to five kills, worlds rotate between completed rounds, and the first fighter to win two rounds takes the series. Solo play can be paused; empty practice lets you explore without an opponent.

Bring a friend—or start right now.

Offline rivals need no account or internet connection. For two-player network play, one player hosts and the other joins the host's IP address and port. Both players need this release and a reachable host port. There is no matchmaking server; a shared LAN is the easiest setup. The downloads include the network helper, so no Ruby installation is needed.

  • WASD / arrows: move and push crates. Mouse: aim. Left click / Space: fire.
  • Enter / B: solo duel. 1 / 2 / 3: rival difficulty. T: duel or series. P: empty practice.
  • A / D in the menu: choose a world. R: next-game screen; the host chooses the next world and continues.
  • H: host. J: join. Esc: pause solo; press twice to leave a network match.

Install instructions

Windows (64-bit Intel/AMD): Extract the entire ZIP into a folder, then run arena-1v1.exe. Keep the runtime and other files beside it.

macOS (Apple silicon or Intel): Extract the ZIP and open Arena 1v1.app. You can move it to Applications. The app is ad-hoc signed, not notarized; if macOS blocks the first launch, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway for this app.

Start solo: press Enter or B. Move with WASD / arrows, aim with the mouse and fire with left click or Space. No Ruby, account or internet connection is needed for solo play.

Two players: both run the same release. The host presses H and uses port 7777; the guest presses J and enters the host's shown LAN IP followed by :7777. The host port must be reachable; allow private-network access if the firewall asks. There is no matchmaking server. The bundled launcher starts and stops its own network helper.
